The Letter...

Time, it makes fools of us all.
It can make us strong,
It can make us fall;
There's no escaping its grasp thus long.

I took her for granted,
Every day, in every way.
She drove and took care of me,
Yet, nary a "Thanks" did I say.

She planned everything for us:
Vacations, a home, a future life;
While all I did was swear and curse
At this kind, patient angel who'd have been my wife.

Yes, I was unreasonable and an uncouth bore.
She'd make time for me even though her body was sore.
I realise now that she deserves so much more.
Alas, all I can do is beg, plead, and implore.

I pray that she takes me back,
So that I can begin to atone for my mistakes.
Until my body aches and my bones crack,
I vow to bring her happiness, whatever it takes.

I swear, it won't be like before.
I'll do all that you ask and more.
These aren't just empty promises too,
This time, I mean it, I truly do.

This time round, I'll plan everything;
Place you on a pedestal up high;
Be your chauffeur, take your chiding;
And never let you sigh.

Unfortunately, it's too late.
She won't give me one final chance.
She's happier now and that's great.
She doesn't need a relationship or romance.

For her birthday,
We'd go for a candle light picnic in a park;
Underneath the moon and stars that pale thus stark,
In comparison to her beauty, in every way.

Then we'd rent a small place of our own,
I'd make breakfast, lunch, and dinner for her every day.
Listen to her stories with glasses of wine;
Then repeat lines two and three until we're old and gray.

I've changed, but time makes a fool of me
For I took too long to realise my sins.
Now, those dreams will remain forever,
As dreams in their bins.

I don't know if she's reading this,
But if she is,
All I ask is for a year to bring you bliss,
And if I fail, I shall leave you in peace.

Memories Past...

There’s this girl I know,
Whose dream it is to travel,
To see distant lands and snow;
To go far and get away from this hovel.

She loves to read;
She loves to eat:
Chocolates, mushrooms, and green tea;
And is lazy.

She wants someone who
Takes care of her and understands
That she is a queen
And blessed is the king who shares her lands.

Yes, I know you,
I always did, it’s true.
Yet, I took you for granted.
Thus, it’s my punishment we parted.

So, I hope you find joy;
And if there’s someone new,
May he not make my mistakes;
He’s one of the lucky few.

Until the end of times,
I pray you’ll forgive my crimes.
Let me end now and say:
I wish you a happy birthday.

Reflection...

Always.
Now, until forevermore;
Giving you my love,
Just as in times of yore;

If ever that day comes;
Never shed a tear
You won’t be alone.
I love you, dear.

I love you, dear.
You won’t be alone.
Never shed a tear
If ever that day comes;

Just as in times of yore;
Giving you my love,
Now, until forevermore;
Always.

Sublime Reflections...

My love for you is true.
I can only say,
You stuck to me like glue,
Through heartache and dismay,

I thank you for being there,
Though the years may wear and tear,
I vow, promise, swear,
I’ll take care of you, anyhow, anywhere.

I’ll take care of you, anyhow, anywhere.
I vow, promise, swear,
Though the years may wear and tear,
I thank you for being there,

Through heartache and dismay,
You stuck to me like glue,
I can only say,
My love for you is true.

For You...

Auburn hair blowing freely;
Noodles in cups, salmon, "HUE", and
Green tea sustains her eternally,
Just as playing with cats in the sand.

It feels like a dream that we're together.
Now, hear as I tell you something that's true.
You, my dearest princess,
I love you.

Lullaby

Go to sleep, my dear.
I'll wipe away your tears.
The sun will rise tomorrow
And take away your fears.

I'll tuck you into bed,
Kiss your head,
Wrap my arms around you;

Replay the words you said
In my head,
Over and over, it's true.

So, I'll hold on tight.
Not letting go tonight.
From this point on,
Until we're gone.

So, go to sleep, my dear.
The sun will rise tomorrow.
You will have nothing to fear;
Forget about your sorrow.
Go to sleep, my dear.

Moonlit Love...

Her smiling face;
Her warm embrace;
Her beauty thus divine;
I can't believe she's mine.

Her gaze, piercing to my core;
Her hands, gentle on bruises thus sore;
Her lips, sweet and fine;
I can't believe she's mine.

Her laugh is what I adore;
Her love, as mystical as ancient lore,
And the way she reads each and every line;
I can't believe she's mine.

She is adorable at any time of the day;
When she has just awoken,
Or when playing with our cat,
Or trying to look innocent when something's broken.

I see that twinkle in her eyes,
When she sniffs her favourite pies.
I've memorised the sound of her sighs
And the subtle variation of her excited cries.

The moon shining her favourite shade of blue
As we lay here under the stars tonight,
I shall not sleep nor shall I blink
For I fear she will be gone by morning light.
