Through The Ages...

It's easy for you to say
That i'm not your muse, to walk away.
But do you know the sadness I feel,
Under this facade of steel...

You're a scene I'll never want to change.
Much like a serene waterfall or breathtaking mountain range,
I want it to last forever till time is through,
To be with you, the one who gives my life its hue...it's true...

I dreamt of you last night
That you are the most beautiful bride,
An elegant sight of white.
Oh, if only I could see this life through by your side...

No pleasures, no riches, no gain,
Shall numb away the pain
Of an empty song, singing all alone
Since you've gone...

Love, hate, pain, anguish are but notions
Of foreboding heartache, suffering and lust's call.
Oh, how quickly love can be cut open in one fluid motion.
Then again, love is but a notion after all...

This is the way you left me, I'm not pretending.
No hope, no love, no glory, no happy ending.
This is the way that we love like it's forever,
Then live the rest of our life but not together...

Time knows not wrong from right,
It passes by without thought or a fight,
But we can always hope for another day
To remember friends, life, love and some dismay...

If only you see what i see when looking into your auburn eyes,
The charm and beauty that I've come to adore now.
If only you knew how your elegance and prettiness aren't lies;
If only you'll give me a chance to show you somehow...

From across a cafe in Paul de Vence,
Against your beauty and grace which had me in a trance,
It seemed nothing in the whole of France
Could have stood a chance.

Eyes of azure so calm and alluring
Hair of gold, shining and enticing
If I could have any wish today
I'd wish we could dance the night away

If by starlight shall your beauty softly glow,
Would it suffice or would you rather have sun's burning light?
One thing I'll say I really do know
Is the way I feel for you tonight...

Stars, zodiacs, astrology, history
Studies of patterns and predictions of misery.
What would I wish from alchemy or chemistry?
To have gold or you by my side, wouldn't that be a mystery...

If I could count the days
Until life fades away
Or to the time we'd see each other by the bays
It would both be hell, but you just make it all okay...

Twas roughly a year ago
We met and it was then, I knew
That fate was kind and so,
Gave me the chance to have met you...

I saw this girl today,
She took my breath away.
It seems all the words I could say,
Would never be sufficient for her in any way...

What can I say that hasn't been said before,
What can I do to show you;
That you're more than a friend to me, much more
And that the way I feel for you is true...

Words are only words
I cannot use it to paint how the joy of being with you feels
Nor can I tell of the beauty that you enchant with and possess
But with words I can express how, with you, I've fallen head over heels...

Could you sing me a song
To make this day last long?
Truth is, time spent with you is akin to a kiss;
Fleeting, spontaneous...pure bliss...

If to be by your side,
Could take away time and its tide.
Would any guy not give their life
To take your hand as his wife...

If to die for belief is to be a martyr,
Then what of, for belief, commit murder?
If to fall for you and not say a word,
Would I be just as foolish or absurd?

Your smile is magical,
Your sweet voice mellows my ire,
Your innocence is comical,
Your beauty stokes my deepest fire.
Meeting you, was indeed a miracle
My longing to see you again is a potent pyre
Which burns brighter than the brightest sparkle
But, sadly, that shall be all it is - a desire...

Thinking of you.
It's why I'm wide awake now,
It's why I miss you too.
I don't know why...don't know how,
But i just do think of you...

Butterflies flutter under golden light.
Clothes and pictures strewn, staring at sky so blue.
I'd love to sit with you for a while, if I might,
And have a cup of coffee or tea with you too...

Eyes are said to be windows to the soul,
What then if a person cries?
And what if, to you, I let my feelings be told;
What will I see in your eyes...

Today's Valentine's day.
I guess I can only say.
To my valentine,
I love you, thank you for being mine...

When the sun goes down,
And the night breaks our town.
Just believe in me and don't make a sound.
I'll hold you close and stand our ground...

Melancholy...

Beauty is, by any definition of the word, that which is pleasing while at the same time stimulating to the senses. These days I've seen friends come and go, much like seasons and fashion; they change way too fast.

Ask an artist what beauty means to him and he'll probably paint you a breathtaking scenery or the girl behind all his inspirations, the girl he loves. He could also start giving you a long winded speech of beauty and how it may be found all around be it in symmetry, nature or even in old dilapidated buildings.

Ask an actor what beauty means and he'll probably tell you that beauty is when all the car crashes, explosions, shootings and the punches are taken away, and the ability to convey the feelings between man and woman of how we really behave, how we really feel. Ultimately, if the stories we help tell manage to bring a tear or two to the audience...that really is the beauty of being an actor.

Ask a teacher what beauty means and if you get any answer that resembles the two aforementioned ones, he might have tried being an artist or an actor before but that didn't really work out so he decided to teach instead. Otherwise, he will teach you that beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. That from the largest geographical snow-capped mountains to perhaps even the tiniest of biological unicellular organisms and that we should all not further pollute the environment.

But all this is really just up to personal opinion. Who's to say that the actor is right while the other two are wrong, or the other way about?

Ask me what beauty is and I'll tell you it's life. There're disappointments, heartaches, joys, friends, enemies and a lot of other components that one will more often than not find on their journey to the pearly gates...oh, I forgot, there's love too. What makes it all beautiful isn't the separate components, really. I guess it's the knowing that there are enough heartaches, bitterness, disappointments, hatred and sorrow to make the joys, sweetness, hopes and love seem all the more enjoyable; and that, to me, is beauty...

Story Untold, Feelings Unsaid...

I see you're happy sitting by his side.
It almost seems you got it right.
Perhaps I'm not meant to be with you on this ride,
Still, I hope with every breath that I could be the one you wish goodnight.

Perhaps I was foolish to even think that we could be
Together, just you and me.
If only you knew how I feel about you
And the things I did, the things I would do, to show my love is true.

Do you recall that cold September night?
We walked together under the moonlight;
It was then that i vowed the very next day, that I would fight,
To avenge how you were wronged, to make it right.

I'm sorry, I'm just sentimental,
Thinking of events past and how we could have been.
But, oh, what i would give for you to tell me I'm wrong,
That you can still be mine and that you're keen.

Please tell me what I saw meant nothing
And that we still have a chance.
To make our life together worth something,
Not just memory's fleeting glance...

Do You Remember...

Do you remember
The time we spent together.
Writing our hopes of tomorrow,
Laughing and forgetting our sorrow.

Where have those days gone;
The days of yore, once upon a dawn.
Oh, what I would give to have you back,
To be with you in my lap as we laze on life's lawn.

Thousands of wishes beget a thousand more
When all they may bring is but heartache galore.
Yet, what I'd give to see you again, to feel and adore;
To have the love that we had before.

We once talked of our future and how it would be
To live in a cottage with four kids down by the sea.
They would play in the yard by the old oak tree
While we spent time together drinking tea, just you and me.

Then came December,
The day God stroked your last dying ember.
Before you left for eternal slumber,
You asked me - "Do you remember"...

Can You Share a Plate With Me?

Sweet winter morn, adorned with a slight drizzle of rain.
How can that be sweet at all, one may ask.
Well, cause it was then that I met her and felt all my pain
Dissolve into nothingness as in her beautiful glow I did bask.

From across the cafe, chimed three bells as she waltzed in.
Shivering from the cold and checks blushing red;
It was then that I felt time stop and my thoughts...oh how full of sin.
But more than that, more than lust, I felt a yearning that to me, she be wed.

For she is the very embodiment of beauty, charm, elegance and grace.
With hair so smooth and brown,
Eyes that can cut through a man's soul, auburn, on such a perfect face,
And slender chin supporting luscious lips that hardly could frown.

So I made my way to the counter as she pondered her order.
I tried to predict what her call might be.
She seemed stuck so I gave the waiter my order.
Then she turned and asked "can you share a plate with me?"

obsession

A wise man once said “It’s NOT an obsession to love animals. It’s only an obsession if you eat them whole, bones and all.”

It’s a well-known fact that most people with obsessions will never admit to having an obsession. Probably because it feels so natural to them, they don’t realize it to be an obsession. In their defence, they sometimes resort to making up non-existent quotations which they usually attribute to some wise men.  Let the record reflect that I do not have an obsession. Besides, I only have sixteen life-sized dinosaur replicas in my store room - hardly counts as an obsession.

What is obsession? It’s a persistent disturbing preoccupation with an often unreasonable idea or a feeling. Either that or it’s a perfume by Calvin Klein retailing for US$49 (1.7 oz).  Since there is only so much one can write about a bottle of perfume, we will go with the first definition instead.

So, how do you tell if someone is obsessed? Here are some tell-tale signs. An obsessed person will usually repeat his statements because he’s afraid the listener may not understand him. Did you get that? Let me repeat, an obsessed person will usually repeat his statements. Sometimes obsessed people repeat their statements repeatedly. Just so you are clear.

A person with a full blown obsession about something will try to learn everything there is to know about the object of his fixation. No effort will be spared in going through related books, blogs, documents, movies, consulting friends, experts, likeminded obsessed people, and then creating elaborate websites devoted to whatever he is obsessed about like plagues, genocide or worse, Justin Bieber.

Next, pretty much like in a relationship, an obsessed person would want to take the thing home to meet his parents. Now, kids, this can be very disturbing; especially for the parents. I knew a guy once who told his parents that he was going out with a doll named Barbie. Yeah, Barbie was a real doll. Did you get that? Barbie was a doll, a real doll. Her full name was Barbie Mattel.

Then there are the impulsive purchases which cannot be explained away. An obsessive person may go out shopping and get something that he already has; be it a smartphone, an Ipod or another Justin Bieber album.  We frequently come across retired teachers who buy up a whole litter of cats and assemble them all in one spot to relive their glory days of lecturing to a class. Each cat will be given its own name and assigned a seating position with the class monitor sitting right out front. Since cats are, by nature, noisy and disobedient they are the ideal substitute for students.

The final and most worrying sign of obsession is that you’ll find the subject constantly talking about something in superlative terms accompanied by excessive animated hand gestures … and foaming uncontrollably at the mouth. When this happens, you don’t have to worry because he’s in no danger of dying anytime soon, but you may want to avoid physical contact with the nasty saliva just in case it really is rabies. Incidentally, these people are so taken up by their obsessions they usually neglect their social life, personal hygiene and even forget to die when their time is up.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this article as much as I’ve enjoyed writing it. Now if you will excuse me, I need to walk my dinosaurs. The two bigger ones Barney and Dino have been feeling restless lately.

story of an unlucky son's life...

Isn't it enough how you've torn apart families?
Isn't it enough how much you've hurt everyone including me,
With disappointment and lies.
But then again, I suppose, you're the only person you can see.

Mothers are supposed to be loving and carin'
It's just sad how some can sell their children off in a heartbeat
Throwing them on the street and selling the house they live in
But then again, you never did care, up on your mighty seat.

What, you suddenly figured that you can't control everything;
That I have got a will of steel not to be overthrown?
What, nothing to say for months now, no more lies to sing?
Sure, hide there like you did when it was known
That I had a girl I could to call my own.

Now you've found yourself a mindless lackey to boss about
To run your errands and scream at real bad.
So that's why you're selling the house and throwing us out,
Because of some deluded fantasy...how sad.

Do you really think you can ever get back your money?
Haven't we suffered enough for your insanity?
Everyday your "friends" hound me to pay for your taste of honey.
I say it's time to end your twisted, moral-less mentality.

Wake up and look around you!
Mountains of debt, no car and, pretty soon,
No house too.
Will you then be happy, you blundering buffoon...
